Thomas Friedman, 53 ans, grand éditorialiste au New York Times, a remporté le prix Pulitzer à trois reprises. Il est l’auteur de trois best-sellers, From Beiruit to Jerusalem (FSG, 1989, National Book Award dans la catégorie « Essais », considéré comme une approche définitive du Moyen-Orient), The Lexus and the Olive Tree: Understanding the Globalisation (FSG, 1999) et Paix des peuples, Guerre des nations (Denoël, 2003). Il vit à Washington.
